Big Brother

Once in a blue moon, I act like a big brother.  Sienna is not as outgoing with the other dogs as I am and she easily gets intimidated.  When I see her ridges going up in front of a dog, I go up immediately and sniff the other dog therefore diverting his/her attention from Sienna.   Mind you, I don’t do this often because I’m usually on the other side of the park playing with my buddies.

I arrived

Another energetic dog arrives and wanted to play but Sienna was just not into this dog.  Guess who came to the rescue? ME.

Me to the rescue

I look so cute here. 🙂

My attention was diverted when Duncan came by to say hi.

I leave for a few minutes and the same dog, this time with a collar, invited Sienna to play again.

She chases Sienna for a few seconds and she runs back to Mom.

I come back and play with her instead . She's really fun to play with. Wish Sienna would give her a chance.

Played with a whippet for awhile.

This guy was fast but I was able to keep up with him. I can see the smiling humans watching us and I can hear Mom saying "Go Sinjin go!"

Had to rest after the chase. That whippet tired me out.

Little Lioness

A photographer from SPCA just happened to be at the park, took pictures of us, and was kind enough to send Mom a copy.  There were a dozen dogs at the park, 2 of them were my  buddies.   Sienna had more photos because I was running around with my friends while she was in repose  🙂

Mom's little lioness. She looks fat in this picture but Mom thinks it's adorable!

This was my only shot.

This is us a week ago.  The feisty ‘lioness’ not backing down.

Grandpaw

We saw Grandpa on Monday.  I was so excited to see him.  He was barefooted and this is the first time I had a chance to lick his feet.  I usually like to groom him and give him a wet willy  🙂   He says, ‘stop licking my feet!’   I finally stopped when I saw Mom preparing the sandwiches for lunch.  I had to positioned myself correctly and use my squinty eyes in hopes of getting scraps.  Sienna was busy sniffing the neighbor’s dog across the backyard fence.  It was a short visit.  We left after lunch, ran a few errands, and went to the park. It was a good day.

My turn with the rope

Good catch

The first dog arrives and I'm on my ready to pounce position.

Boisterous Sunday

We normally don’t go to Dog Park A on Sundays.  It’s a good thing that we did.  We met several ‘new’ dogs and a shiba.   She’s only a year old and she’s a rescue.  She loves to play with bigger dogs but both Sienna and I got to play with her for a bit.  I got to play with a beagle, a lab, a schnauzer, an aussie, and a chihuahua/terrier.   I had so much fun running  and chasing dogs.  At one point, I went paw to paw with Beetle, my only buddy at the park.  Mom had so much fun watching us play that she forgot to film it.  There was a young retriever who wanted to play with me and kept following me but I would show my fangs at him.  I wasn’t interested but he finally got to play with Sienna.  Ever since I got bitten at the park, I tend to show my fangs to dogs who I don’t want to play with or sniffs at me.  I don’t growl, I just give them my warning fangs.  Mom corrects me right away when she sees it.   Other peeps think I am being mean but they eventually see that I’m harmless.

Miko saying 'hi' to wary Sienna

They are the same age but Miko is taller than Sienna

She's even taller than me.

Lucille Ball is part shiba and also a rescue

Beetle Bailey, my buddy, looking at Miko

Awwwww, what a cutie!

Tete a tete

Early this morning, Sienna and I had a screaming match that woke up Mom and Dad.  She was chewing on my raw bone and I had to tell her that she can’t have it.  I told her in a polite manner but she disrespected me.  She growled at me loudly not befitting a young lady.  Then we heard Mom say, ‘guys, knock it off!’    We kept arguing like uncivilized shibas.  It’s not like I want the bone, I just don’t want Sienna to have it.  After telling her off one more time and making sure she knows I can take that bone from her if I really wanted to, I left and went back to bed between Mom and Dad.  Within seconds, Sienna climbed up onto the bed.  Before I can growl at her, Mom puts the pillow between us and we all went back to sleep.

Sniff sniff

Then it was Sienna's turn to get high on grass 🙂
